Deutz-Fahr Agrolux: the compact entry class since 2000, 52 to 70 kW, three- and four-cylinder diesels, model name continued into the current range

The Agrolux series has, since the early 2000s, rounded out Deutz-Fahr's line-up with compact entry-level tractors — a model name the brand continues in its current range to this day.

The register lists 12 live models, from the Agrolux 57 to the Agrolux 320, built between 2000 and 2009. Output ranges from 38.3 to 70 kW, weight from 2,220 to 3,200 kg, displacement from 3,000 to 4,086 cm3, across three- and four-cylinder engines.

As a compact all-purpose tractor, the Agrolux targeted smaller farms, part-time farmers and municipal use, with simpler specification than the pricier Agroplus and Agrotron series.

Because the Agrolux name still exists in Deutz-Fahr's current line-up, buyers looking at a used example should pay particular attention to build year and engine stage to correctly place models from this early generation.

Specifically, when buying used, clutch and gearbox condition, the tightness of the lift hydraulics, and rust on cab and mudguards after years of municipal or part-time farm use matter; parts for the simple mechanical technology of this early generation remain well available through the SAME Deutz-Fahr group. PTO and three-point hitch correspond in this power class to ISO 730 Category I to II, at 540 rpm. On the rare air-cooled versions of the early Agrolux, the cooling fins and fan matter too, while on the usual water-cooled models it is the radiator and hoses.
