The water-cooled three-cylinder diesel engine displaces 2,887 cm³ and delivers 55 kW at 2,000 rpm, equivalent to 75 horsepower. With a weight of 3,000 kg, a wheelbase of 2,100 mm, a width of 1,782 mm and a hydraulic lift capacity of 2,500 kg, the Argon 80 was a versatile standard tractor in the mid power class.
Stage III B emissions were an important intermediate step for mobile machinery with combustion engines on the way to the stricter Stage IV and V limits, and typically already required exhaust after-treatment such as a particulate filter. A rear lift capacity of 2,500 kg allows medium-weight implements such as ploughs or disc harrows to be raised safely.
When buying a used Argon Stufe III B 80, the exhaust after-treatment, particularly any fitted particulate filter, should be checked for function, since repairing these components can be costly. The hydraulic pump and lift cylinders also deserve a check under full load to confirm the stated lift capacity.
