The 832 Junior was built by Ritscher between 1956 and 1959 as a four-wheel tractor and offered the choice, unusual for this maker, between water and air cooling for the same engine, depending on customer preference or intended use.

The three-cylinder engine displaces 2,552 cm³ and delivers 23.4 kW at 1,800 rpm, equivalent to 32 horsepower. With a weight of 1,740 kg, a wheelbase of 1,964 mm, a width of 1,550 mm and a top speed of 19.85 km/h, the 832 Junior was a medium-sized farm tractor of its time.

Offering a choice between water and air cooling for the same engine block was not a given in the 1950s and let customers decide, depending on climate and maintenance preference, between frost-proof, low-maintenance air cooling and the more even performance of water cooling. Three-cylinder engines of this size sat between smaller two-cylinder and larger four-cylinder tractors in output.

When buying a used 832 Junior, it must first be established which of the two cooling variants is fitted, since maintenance and spare-parts needs differ considerably. On the water-cooled version, the radiator and pump should be checked for leaks; on the air-cooled version, the cooling airflow should be checked for fouling and damaged guide panels. Since both variants share the same base engine, it is also worth matching the engine number against the surviving paperwork.
