Riba Other models

The register lists here 189 versions with unladen weights from 220 to 2,290 kg, gross weights from 850 to 5,200 kg and widths from 1,550 to 2,550 mm. By gross weight, the models fall into classes O1 to O3 (up to 750 kg, up to 3.5 t and up to 10 t gross weight); an overrun brake is required above 750 kg unladen weight, and a continuous braking system above 3.5 t gross weight.

Boat trailers such as Riba's serve the leisure and watersports market, standing there alongside specialist suppliers such as Marlin and Boatmate for the road transport of motor and sailing boats up to the medium size class.

On used boat trailers, corrosion on the frame and axle matters above all (particularly at risk from contact with salt and fresh water when launching), along with the condition of the rollers or bunks, wheel bearings and brakes, and the lighting system, which is vulnerable with frequent water contact; a galvanised or stainless frame and regularly greased bearings are decisive checkpoints on viewing.
