Defining features of this series are its narrow width and low build height, allowing it to manoeuvre between tight vine rows, combined with comparatively low weight against standard tractors of the same power class.
The Vigneron series thus added a niche segment to Renault's line-up that most competitors offered only as special equipment.
When buying used narrow Vigneron models, the availability of matching narrow tyres, the condition of the reduced mudguards after work in tight vine rows, and – on the air-cooled engines – the cooling fins and fan all matter; clutch, gearbox and hydraulic tightness should be checked as on any older Renault model. Parts for the shared engine base are usually available, though viticulture-specific fittings are scarcer. PTO and three-point hitch correspond in this power class to ISO 730 Category I, at 540 rpm.
