Renault MX-Baureihe

The register lists 10 live models, from the 58-12 MX to the 90-34 MX, built between 1988 and 1993. Output ranges from 39.7 to 61.1 kW, or around 70 hp, weight from 2,555 to 4,335 kg, displacement from 3,117 to 4,156 cm3, across three- and four-cylinder engines.

Technically, the MX series drew on the same engine family as the preceding LS and RS series, but combined it with reworked hydraulics and cab as a final development step before the wholesale model renewal.

The MX series thus marks the end of numeric type designations at Renault Agriculture, before the 1990s series introduced proper model names.

When buying a used MX series, clutch and gearbox condition, the tightness of the reworked lift hydraulics, and rust on cab and mudguards after decades of use matter; since the engine and displacement are identical to the LS and RS, common wear parts are widely available. Parts have run through the Claas parts network since Renault Agriculture's dissolution. PTO and three-point hitch correspond in this power class to ISO 730 Category I to II, at 540 rpm. As the category rises, the lift-arm pin diameter grows too, which can make older, lower-category implements incompatible.
