Renault thus positioned the LS series as an affordable route into its engine technology, without the comfort and equipment scope of the larger series.

When buying a used, lighter LS series, clutch and mechanical gearbox condition, the tightness of the lift hydraulics, and rust on the simpler cab and mudguards matter; since the engine and displacement are identical to the RS and TX, parts for the injection system and cooling are widely available, though cab- and chassis-specific parts are scarcer. Parts have run through the Claas parts network since Renault Agriculture's dissolution. PTO and three-point hitch likewise correspond in this power class to ISO 730 Category I to II, at 540 rpm.
