The 2.3-litre four-cylinder diesel is the standard engine of the Master range. At 3,500 kg gross vehicle weight and 2,535 kg kerb weight, the payload comes to around 965 kg. At 7,050 mm overall length, 4,330 mm wheelbase and 2,270 mm width, this vehicle counts among the largest body versions of the range, with the width showing a marked sideways overhang of the box body beyond the cab width.
At 3,500 kg gross vehicle weight the Master, despite its length, stays in EU category N1 and can be driven on a category B licence. Twin rear tyres spread the axle load of such a long, usually heavy box body over a larger contact area and improve stability in crosswinds.
On a body this long, it is worth checking the rear overhang for sagging and the mounting points between the body frame and the chassis for cracked paint. The brakes and tyres of both rear wheels on each side should be checked for even wear, since a pressure difference between the twin tyres leads to one-sided wear. The 2.3-litre dCi engine, as with other Master chassis, needs attention to the dual-mass flywheel and turbocharger.
