The Atles range was the last standalone large-tractor range developed under the Renault name, built between 2003 and 2007 already in the transition period to Claas, which had taken over Renault's tractor division in 2003; the models covered here, Atles 926, 935 and 936, all carry the RZ suffix. Unlike earlier Renault ranges, the Atles engines were factory-set up to run on biodiesel.

With power up to 250 hp, the Atles range formed the top of the Renault line-up and competed with the large field tractors of Fendt, Case IH, Massey Ferguson and Claas itself; biodiesel capability was a distinguishing feature in this power class at launch.
On a used Atles, the condition of the clutch and powershift transmission, the tightness of the hydraulics and fuel system, rust on the chassis and cab mountings, and the condition of the electronics all count; parts run through the Claas network, which continued the range after the takeover. On the biodiesel-capable engines, the condition of the fuel filters and lines is also worth checking, as biodiesel places higher demands on the fuel system's seals.
