The register lists 3 versions here with 46 to 51 kW, or 62 to 68 hp, from four-cylinder diesel engines with a rated speed of 2,300 rpm.

The Deutz-licensed four-cylinder F4L 912 is one of the most widely built air-cooled tractor engines of all time and was adopted under licence by numerous manufacturers worldwide; tractors with this unit were known for their ruggedness and for not needing a liquid cooling circuit, and were used on medium-sized farms. On the used market, tractors with the F4L 912 remain comparatively easy to maintain today thanks to the wide licensed production, as cylinder heads, pistons and injectors are largely interchangeable between different licensees.

For a used PMA, the condition and cooling fins of the air-cooled F4L 912 engine, the tightness of the injection pump, the condition of the clutch and gearbox, and wear on the axles and tyres are the key checks. As the F4L 912 was widely used under licence, wear parts are usually easy to source through the independent Deutz parts trade. Equally important are the condition of the electrics and lighting and corrosion on the chassis and sheet metal parts.
