Plandex builds bodies on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, as the model names Sprinter/Z and Plandex Sprinter/Z directly show. This page gathers versions the register could not assign to a named range, from the 35S18 to the Sprinter/Z; the number combination 35S18 follows the logic usual for Sprinter-based bodies, combining gross weight and wheelbase.

The register lists here 3 versions with 4-cylinder diesel engines from 2,143 to 2,998 cm³, unladen weights from 2,260 to 2,675 kg, a gross weight fixed throughout at 3,500 kg and widths from 2,100 to 2,210 mm.

Bodies on the Sprinter chassis serve a wide field from box bodies to refrigerated vehicles to special purposes, because the Sprinter, as the most common base vehicle of this weight class in Europe, is favoured by numerous body builders.

Unlike the front-wheel-drive vans from the Sevel partnership, such as the Peugeot Boxer or Citroën Jumper, the Sprinter is rear-wheel drive; that allows higher rear-axle loads and thus heavier bodies, but comes with a propshaft tunnel in the load floor.

On a used body of this kind, the condition of the Sprinter chassis itself with its known weak points at the EGR valve and turbocharger, rust at the mounting points between body and frame, the tightness of the box body, and brakes and tyres under full payload all count.
