Normag Zorge NG – small-tractor range from the Harz: NG 15 L and NG 23 K, 11.7 to 18.3 kW from one- to two-cylinder engines of 1,180 to 2,356 cm³
Normag is a German tractor maker whose roots lie in Nordhausen; after the Second World War the firm continued production in Zorge in the Harz mountains. The Zorge NG range comprises compact small tractors of the 1950s, whose type designation approximates the power in hp – as with the NG 15 L and NG 23 K models. Production in Zorge continued into the 1960s and targeted mainly smallholder farms that had previously worked with horse teams.

The register lists here 2 versions with 11.7 to 18.3 kW from one- to two-cylinder engines of 1,180 to 2,356 cm³, an unladen weight of 1,200 to 1,620 kg, a length of 2,450 to 2,670 mm, a width of 1,500 to 1,530 mm, a height of 1,550 to 1,640 mm and a rated speed of 1,500 to 1,600 rpm.
Small tractors of this kind supplied smallholder farms in postwar West Germany with affordable mechanisation during the 1950s, increasingly replacing horse teams on small and medium-sized plots. In upland terrain such as the Harz, the compact dimensions and low weight mattered especially, since heavy standard tractors could hardly be used on steep and narrow plots.
Buyers of used units should check the injection pump and fuel system, clutch and gearbox, and rust on the bodywork and mudguards; as the brand has not existed for decades, spares run almost exclusively through collectors, donor vehicles and reproductions. On these small tractors, the steering, brakes and the condition of the often narrow tyres also deserve particular attention.
