The C 10 is powered by a single-cylinder diesel engine of 758 cc with evaporative cooling, delivering 7.3 kW at 1,750 rpm, roughly 10 hp. At an unladen weight of 840 kg, a length of 2,190 mm, a height of 1,280 mm and a wheelbase of 1,400 mm, the machine has a design top speed of 14.8 km/h.

Evaporative cooling dispenses with a water pump and radiator, letting excess heat escape through boiling water in an open tank, a simple and low-maintenance system common on small single-cylinder diesels of the period. The modest output of around 7 kW from a single cylinder was typical of the immediate post-war years, when scarce materials favoured simple, rugged designs; the C 10 was built for tillage and transport on smaller farms.

When buying a used single-cylinder tractor with evaporative cooling, check the water tank for leaks and the cooling lines for rust, since the system overheats quickly if water runs low. The condition of the injection pump, the clutch and the drive belts for auxiliary units after decades of use is equally important. It is also worth inspecting the fuel tank and fuel lines for corrosion, and checking that the flywheel starting handle and its dogs are not worn smooth.
