Nissan's presence in the European commercial-vehicle market is chiefly in the light segment up to 7.5 tonnes, where the Cabstar and NT500 compete as a chassis with the Iveco Daily, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and the light ranges from Renault and Fiat; the Navara ranks among the established mid-size pickups alongside the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger.

On used Cabstar and NT500 trucks, rust on the chassis, clutch and brake condition and the body (flatbed, tipper, box body) count, on the Navara the differentials and four-wheel-drive system, on older ranges such as the TL110.45 the availability of spare parts; these run through the Nissan dealer network.
