The TL-A series is a development of New Holland's TL series from the Italian plant in Jesi in the 2000s. The four models TL70A, TL80A, TL90A and TL100A are staggered by rising power through their type number, with the A suffix denoting the revised version compared with the original TL series; all four carry the same four-cylinder diesel engine with 4.5 litres of displacement.

The register lists 4 versions with 53 to 74 kW (72 to 100 hp) from the shared four-cylinder with 4,500 cm³ displacement. Unladen weights range from 3,475 to 3,900 kg at a uniform length of 4,030 mm, heights from 2,480 to 2,540 mm; the rated speed is uniformly 2,500 rpm.
As a mid-range field tractor, the TL-A series targets small and medium-sized farms as well as speciality crop operations, competing with comparable series from Deutz-Fahr, Massey Ferguson and Case IH of the same era. It is used mainly for tillage, sowing, transport work and powering trailed harvesting machinery. Many examples were also used for loader work in yards and on livestock farms.
When buying used, the operating hours on the four-cylinder, the condition of the lift hydraulics and PTO, and the tightness of engine and transmission all matter. Spare parts run through the New Holland dealer network. It is also worth checking the on-board electronics, cab mounting and seat suspension, and tyre tread depth.
