With kerb weights of over 18 tonnes and a gross vehicle weight of 36,000 kg, the heaviest versions of the ET range are particularly massively built semi-trailers for heavy-duty use, while the lighter models of the range sit around 32 tonnes gross vehicle weight. Semi-trailer manufacturers in the Rotterdam region benefit from proximity to the largest European seaport and the container and general-cargo handling concentrated there.

When buying used, the frame and axle mountings should be checked for corrosion and wear, along with the brakes, air suspension and kingpin. On the heaviest versions it is also worth checking frame torsional stiffness and undercarriage corrosion, which is more common on vehicles that have operated in port environments; spare parts are stocked by the Dutch and Belgian commercial-vehicle trade.
