The MFT 600 series gathers in the register four Eicher tractors of the 656, 666 and 680 types, which fall into a shared power class based on their three-digit type number. The additional letters VC and VAC mark separate equipment variants of these models. Eicher built its field tractors with such three-digit type numbers over several decades in Bavaria, before production later moved into other corporate structures.

With their power band of 41 to 59 kW, these Eicher models covered the mid segment of West German field tractors of their time and were used on mixed farms for fieldwork, transport and PTO work such as forage chopping or driving pumps.
On these tractors, what counts is the condition of the frame and mudguards for rust, wear on the clutch and gearbox, the tightness of the hydraulics and lift linkage, and the function of the lighting system and instruments. Spare parts are today obtained mainly through specialist Eicher vintage-tractor dealers and relevant tractor clubs.
