The register lists here 11 versions with 66 to 130 kW from five-cylinders of 2,490 to 3,000 cm³, unladen weights from 1,460 to 2,220 kg, gross weights from 2,280 to 2,720 kg, lengths from 5,160 to 5,550 mm and widths from 1,740 to 1,800 mm.

Mercedes-Benz chassis were for decades the standard basis for emergency medical vehicles in central Europe, because body builders such as Binz and Bonna could realise field-proven patient compartments of standardised dimensions on them. The five-cylinder diesel engines offered the balance of smoothness and fuel consumption wanted for continuous emergency-service duty.

On a former emergency vehicle, the engine hours and service history, the condition of the special patient-compartment fit-out (oxygen system, stretcher mounts), corrosion on the floor and sills, and the condition of the light and siren system, where still fitted, all matter. Chassis and engine parts run through the Mercedes-Benz network, body parts through Binz or Bonna.
