The Titan was Mazda's standard truck for the medium segment between 3.5 and 8 tonnes from the 1970s onward and was built in several countries under licence or other brand names, including as the Ford Trader and, in reworked form, as the Nissan Atlas; in Europe it remained a niche product alongside the European makers.

On used examples, corrosion on the frame and load bed, the condition of clutch and brakes, the tightness of the cab mounts and the availability of spare parts count, which outside Japan usually runs only through importers or remaining stock. On the WE types it is also worth checking the chassis and drive code in the type designation, so that axle, brake and towbar parts match the specific version.
