2 models in this series
Massey Ferguson 7400 series – built in Beauvais, France: MF 7485 and MF 7495 with six-cylinder engine, 6,596 cm³, 121.4 to 136.2 kW, optional Dyna-VT transmission
The 7400 series represents the more powerful six-cylinder class within the Massey Ferguson model range, built in Beauvais, France, and positioned above the 6400 series. The MF 7485 and MF 7495 models were optionally available with the stepless Dyna-VT transmission, which, unlike the stepped Dyna power-shift gearboxes of the smaller series, allowed continuous ratio change.

The register lists 2 versions here with 121.4 to 136.2 kW (up to 165 hp) from the six-cylinder diesel engine of 6,596 cm³ displacement, at 2,200 revolutions per minute. Kerb weight is 6,870 kg, at a gross vehicle weight of 12,000 kg, lengths from 5,040 to 5,080 mm, widths from 2,530 to 2,550 mm, a height of 3,100 mm and torque from 626 to 735 Nm.
With the Dyna-VT transmission and high torque, the 7400 series targeted large arable farms and contractors who valued stepless travel speed for both field work and transport alike. In this market segment it competed with stepless large tractors from John Deere, Fendt and Case IH.
When buying used, on the Dyna-VT version the function of the transmission-oil cooling circuit and the electro-hydraulic control is decisive, since repairs to the stepless gearbox are costly. Turbocharger, intercooler and rear-axle bearings of the six-cylinder also warrant checking; spare parts are supplied by AGCO through its dealer network.
