The register lists 2 versions here with 114.1 to 125.1 kW (up to 170 hp) from the six-cylinder diesel engine of 6,596 to 6,598 cm³ displacement, at 2,200 revolutions per minute. Kerb weights range from 6,123 to 6,280 kg, at a gross vehicle weight of 12,000 kg, lengths from 4,986 to 4,989 mm, a width of 2,071 mm, a height of 3,095 mm and torque of 658 Nm.
At this power class, the MF 6485 A and MF 6490 occupied the segment of versatile standard tractors for mid-sized to larger arable farms, competing for market share with John Deere, Case IH and New Holland. The six-cylinder engine and Dyna transmissions also made the range attractive for haulage work with trailers.
When buying used, the electro-hydraulic control of the Dyna transmission and the condition of the clutch packs should be checked, as repairs here can become costly. Radiator, intercooler and rear-axle bearings also deserve attention on these powerful six-cylinders; spare parts are supplied by AGCO through its dealer network.
