Lindner 1000 series – mountain tractors from Kundl in the Tyrol: 1048 and 1055 models with three-cylinder 2,502 cm³ engine, 47 to 55 hp, each in two versions
Lindner, based in Kundl in the Tyrol, builds tractors for alpine and upland farming. The 1000 series comprises the 1048 and 1055 models, each offered in two versions (N and A). Both models share the three-cylinder engine of 2,502 cm³ displacement at 2,400 revolutions per minute, representing the compact, manoeuvrable design with which Lindner set itself apart from the larger standard tractors of the lowlands.

The register lists 2 versions here with 47 to 55 hp from the three-cylinder diesel engine. Kerb weights range from 1,940 to 2,060 kg, lengths from 3,380 to 3,540 mm, at a width of 1,745 mm and heights from 2,190 to 2,230 mm.
In the narrow, steep terrain of the Tyrol and neighbouring alpine regions, the compact build with a short wheelbase and low centre of gravity was decisive; Lindner thereby occupied a niche where large standard tractors from other makers reached their limits. The 1000 series marks the transition from early small tractors to the later, specialised mountain and slope tractors of the brand.
When buying used, steering and front axle deserve particular attention given the frequent slope work, as do brakes and clutch, which see heavier wear under constant gradient use. Rust on wings and bonnet and the condition of the implement hydraulics are typical weak points; spare parts are supplied by the manufacturer itself and by workshops in the Tyrol specialising in Lindner tractors.
