The 1065 is fitted with a water-cooled four-cylinder diesel engine of 3,800 cm3 displacement, producing 48 kW, or 65 hp. The machine reaches a top speed of 30 km/h. No further dimensions or weight are recorded for this model in the register.
A four-cylinder engine of this displacement runs more smoothly than the smaller two- and three-cylinder models Lindner built for the steepest hillsides, and delivers more torque at lower engine speeds, making it better suited to mixed grassland, general yard work and haulage than to the very steepest, most extreme slopes those smaller models were built for. At a built-in top speed of 30 km/h, the machine stays well below the 60 km/h ceiling of the German T licence class.
When buying a used Lindner tractor built in the 1980s, often used on grassland and with slurry, it is worth checking the frame and rear axle for corrosion from slurry and moisture contact, the gearbox and differential for wear from frequent work on slopes, and the hydraulic hoses and clutch for wear from frequent starting and stopping on steep access tracks and yard ramps.
