Walking-floor semi-trailers of this size belong to class O4 and unload their cargo through a hydraulically driven, moving floor instead of tipping, which suits them to loose bulk goods, wood chips, compost or municipal waste, including where there is no clearance height for a tipper. This way of unloading also spares the structure of halls and transfer stations under which a tipper could not raise its body.

On used walking-floor semi-trailers, the condition and tightness of the floor chains and pusher slats, the operation of the hydraulics, the frame and sides, and axles and brakes count; spare parts for the walking-floor mechanism mostly run through the manufacturer itself. A trial run of the walking floor under load shows more reliably than an empty run whether chains and cylinders still work evenly.
