The Mistral is Landini's entry into the compact class below 60 hp – the tractor for municipalities, nurseries, horse farms and part-time holdings that at 1.3 to 1.4 metres wide fits through yard gates and park paths and works with front loader, mower or snow blade. Landini of Fabbrico, part of the ARGO group since 1994, sources technology from partners in this class as all European makers do: the engines are Yanmar diesels from Japan – the three-cylinder 3TNV88 of 1.6 litres in the Mistral 40, the four-cylinders 4TNV84 and 4TNV88 of 2.0 and 2.2 litres in the larger models, turbocharged in the Mistral 55. The type logic: the number gives the hp class – Mistral 40 about 40 hp, 45 45 hp, 50 50 hp, 55 about 55 hp – the versions differ in transmission (mechanical or hydrostatic) and equipment.
