The M7151, built in 2014, belongs to the M7 series, with which Kubota entered the class of large standard tractors above 100 kW, a power range that Japanese manufacturers had rarely occupied until then.

The M7151 is powered by a water-cooled four-cylinder diesel engine of 6,124 cm³ displacement, delivering 110 kW, or 150 hp, at 2,200 rpm. At a kerb weight of 6,500 kg, the tractor is 4,770 mm long, 2,500 mm wide and 3,030 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. Its design top speed is 50 km/h.

At 50 km/h, the M7151 falls into driving licence category T. The low rated speed of 2,200 rpm combined with over six litres of displacement across four cylinders points to a torque-oriented design, as needed for heavy soil cultivation and operating large towed implements. The permitted top speed of 50 km/h also allows for brisker road transport.

When buying a large four-cylinder tractor of this power class, the checklist should include the clutch for wear from frequent operation of heavy implements, the hydraulic pump for adequate delivery, and the condition of the PTO drive shafts. Given the 6.5-tonne weight, the tyres also deserve particular attention for even wear and adequate pressure, since underinflated tyres on a tractor this heavy wear unevenly and increase fuel consumption. The rear axle seals should likewise be checked for oil seepage, a common sign of age on tractors that have pulled heavy implements for years.
