Kubota M5001N

At roughly a quarter narrower than comparable standard tractors, the M5101N is designed for working between narrow tree rows in orchards and vineyards, where standard tractors simply do not fit between the rows. The narrow track combined with high engine output of 77 kW demands particular attention to stability on slopes, as commonly found in vineyards, and the narrow tyres carry the same weight over a smaller footprint than on a standard tractor.

When buying a used narrow row-crop tractor of this type, it is worth checking the front axle bearings and steering geometry for play, since the narrow track places greater stress on the axle than on standard tractors. The often special, narrow tyres should be checked for even wear, as should the cab seals for rust, since vineyard tractors are frequently exposed to spray chemicals and moisture. The exterior mirrors and side panels are also worth a look for scuffing, a common sign of repeated contact with rows and trellis posts.
