The 2000 series is a European utility-tractor range that John Deere had built from 1993 to 1998 at the Brno plant in Czechia – the same plant where Zetor has made its own tractors since 1946. Eight models from 2000 to 2900 order the size in ascending order by type number, most with the suffix (A) marking the version; the 2900 as the largest model of the range reached roughly the power class of John Deere's smaller 6000-series tractors.

On used 2000-series tractors, operating hours and the condition of the three- or four-cylinder diesel count, along with the tightness of the injection pump, the condition of clutch and gearbox, and wear on the rear axle and PTO. Because the range is technically related to Zetor's own programme, many wear parts are comparatively well available through Zetor dealer networks in Central Europe.
