John Deere 7010 Series (from 1997) - the mid-range from Waterloo and Mannheim: 7210 to 7810, PowerTech six-cylinder engines of 6.8 to 8.1 litres, 81 to 125 kW
The 7010 series replaced John Deere's previous mid-range in 1997 and was built in parallel at the Waterloo plant in the US and the Mannheim plant in Europe. The type logic orders the power class ascending from the 7210 to the 7810; the A suffix denotes the version with a driven front axle (MFWD), as against the rear-wheel-drive-only 7210. The models are powered by John Deere's own PowerTech six-cylinder engines.

The 7010 series was John Deere's answer to growing demand for versatile mid-range tractors suited to front loaders, PTO and draft work on arable and mixed farms, with the PowrQuad transmission or an optional fully automatic PowerShift, and the CommandView cab. The revised 20 series followed in 2003.
On a used example with PowerTech engines, check the injection pump or common-rail system, the turbocharger and intercooler, the transmission and the clutch packs of the power-shift gearbox, the front axle on A models, the hydraulic pump and valves, and the cab electronics; parts are well supplied worldwide through John Deere.
