JI Case – other models: the collective page of historic Case tractors from Racine outside the named ranges, with the D and DC types, 23.6 to 24.6 kW, 3,177 to 3,180 kg
This page gathers J.I. Case tractors from Racine, Wisconsin, that the register could not assign to a named range, represented here by the D and DC types. The Case D was a classic universal tractor with standard tread, while the DC version was designed as a narrow-tread model with a tighter front axle for row-crop work.

The register lists here 2 versions with 23.6 to 24.6 kW from four-cylinder engines of 4,249 cm³ displacement, weights from 3,177 to 3,180 kg, lengths from 2,946 to 3,416 mm, widths from 1,397 to 1,562 mm, heights from 1,257 to 1,378 mm and rated speeds from 1,100 to 1,200 rpm.
The D and its variants were among the most widely built Case tractors of their time and, with their rugged four-cylinder engineering, competed directly with universal tractors from John Deere, Farmall and Allis-Chalmers; they met the needs of medium-sized and larger farms in American grain and row-crop farming across the Midwest.
Buying one of these historic models used, the condition and tightness of the engine, the condition of the clutch and gearbox, and rust on the bodywork and mudguards matter; on versions running on kerosene or petroleum, the condition of the vaporiser and ignition system is also worth checking. Spare parts are available through specialist collectors and clubs for historic Case tractors.
