The TG4490 has a four-cylinder diesel engine of 2,197 cm3 displacement, producing 35 kW (47.6 hp) at 2,600 rpm. At 1,810 kg weight and 3,450 mm length, it is noticeably stronger than the smaller lines from the same maker. Its three-point linkage lifts up to 1,200 kg.
A four-cylinder diesel of just over two litres and 35 kW sits at the border between a compact and a medium-sized general-purpose tractor, suited to front loader, mowing and light arable work. The higher lift capacity of the three-point linkage compared with smaller Iseki lines allows heavier mounted implements to be used.
On a used TG4490, the hydraulic pump and front loader mounting, where fitted, are among the wear points needing the closest inspection, since compact tractors of this size are often bought specifically for loader work. Gearbox and four-wheel-drive engagement should be checked for smooth shifting, and the power take-off for clean engagement and disengagement. Rust on compact tractors of this build tends to start at the battery tray and the footsteps, and the tyres should be checked for age cracking even at low running hours.
