International Harvester D series

The register lists 4 versions with 14.6 to 26.4 kW from three- and four-cylinder diesel engines of 1,631 to 2,434 cm³ displacement, unladen weights from 1,230 to 1,542 kg and rated speeds from 1,750 to 1,900 rpm; lengths range from 2,732 to 2,930 mm, widths from 1,630 to 1,640 mm, heights from 1,550 to 1,585 mm.

The D range positioned International Harvester in the West German and European market of the 1950s against domestic manufacturers such as Fendt, Deutz and Hanomag, and was meant to give the American group a foothold in Europe's small-tractor market, which differed markedly in scale and requirements from the large North American field tractors.

On a used IHC D-range tractor, the condition of the diesel engine's injection pump and injectors, rust on the frame and mudguards, the tightness of the gearbox and axles, and the function of the hydraulics all count; because production has ended, parts for this European IHC range are mostly only available through specialist dealers and collector circles.
