The water-cooled diesel engine produces 50 hp (37 kW) and drives both axles (MFWD, mechanical front-wheel drive with a driven front axle). This makes it a compact all-round tractor in the lower-to-medium power range, designed for smaller and medium-sized farms as well as municipal use.

Mechanical front-wheel drive (MFWD) substantially improves traction on loose or wet ground compared with rear-wheel drive alone, without significantly limiting the tractor's manoeuvrability. Tractors of this power class fall under driving licence category T and typically use a standardised power take-off running at 540 rpm.

When buying a used Lovol/Impodan tractor, checks should include the condition of the four-wheel-drive hub and front axle joints, as well as the availability of spare parts through the Danish importer, since parts for Chinese-built machines are not everywhere as readily available as for established European brands. Smooth engine running, hydraulic tightness and clutch condition should be checked as with any used tractor.
