The register lists here 7 versions with 118 to 243 kW from eight-cylinders of 5,967 to 6,470 cm³, unladen weights from 2,950 to 3,320 kg, gross weights from 3,901 to 4,676 kg, lengths from 4,700 to 5,150 mm and widths from 2,020 to 2,360 mm.

The Hummer H1 remained a niche vehicle: expensive, wide and thirsty, but with off-road ability that had few equals on the civilian truck market. As a closed-box van it served in Finland mainly public authorities, rescue organisations and expedition outfitters wanting four-wheel drive combined with a lockable load space.

On a used example, the condition of the GM V8 diesel and its injection pump, the seal and corrosion of the box body, the state of the transfer case and portal axles, and rust on the frame under the floor all matter. Drivetrain and chassis parts run through specialist Hummer H1 dealers; body panels for the box conversion are one-off items.
