Hürlimann's H series was built under the SAME Lamborghini Hürlimann (SLH) cooperation, founded in 1979, from which today's SDF group headquartered in Treviglio later emerged. With its power class the H series covered the upper segment of Hürlimann tractors and competed with comparable large tractors from Deutz-Fahr, Fendt and Case IH, used at the same time in professional arable farming and contracting; the standard four-wheel drive was sought after for heavy tillage with large mounted implements.

When buying a used H model, the key points are the condition of the engine and turbocharger, wear on clutch and gearbox given the series' high torque, and tightness of the hydraulics and four-wheel-drive hub, plus corrosion on cab and chassis and the function of the trailer brake valves; spare parts for the SLH-era series now run through the SDF group's parts channels.
