With an unladen weight of 17,020 kg, payload comes to only 6,980 kg, less than a third of the gross weight. The name Weight Master and the very high unladen weight relative to payload point to a body with permanently fitted, heavy equipment rather than transport of changing general cargo. At 13.75 m long, 2.55 m wide and with an 8.80 m wheelbase, this points to a long, multi-axle chassis.

Class O4 trailers are generally fitted with air brakes and usually with air suspension on at least one axle. Towing it as a combination requires driving licence category CE in the EU. The high unladen weight combined with a comparatively low payload spreads across the entire axle load and calls for correspondingly sized brakes.

When buying a trailer with an unusually high unladen weight, check what permanently fitted equipment accounts for the weight, since it determines the vehicle's condition and value more than an ordinary load trailer. Also check axle bearings, brake drums and air suspension bellows for wear and leaks, check the frame for fatigue cracks from the permanently high axle load, and check the coupling and electrical connectors for secure, corrosion-free contact.
