Fordson – other models: the collective page of British commercial vehicles outside the named ranges, from the 5 CWT class to the Thames 5 Ton and the WOT 2 military series, 34 kW, 1,170 to 3,622 cc
This page gathers the Fordson commercial vehicles the register could not assign to a named range. Fordson was the brand name under which Ford sold tractors in Britain from 1917, and from the 1930s also light and medium trucks, before the commercial vehicle division moved to the separate Thames brand in 1957. The British type logic stated payload in hundredweight (CWT, around 50.8 kg per unit): the 5 CWT and 10 CWT classes denote light vans, and WOT stands for "War Office Type", the designation for British military trucks of the war and immediate post-war years, represented here by the WOT 2. The Thames 5 Ton already marks the transition to the new brand name.

The register lists 9 versions here with a recorded power of 34 kW, displacements from 1,170 to 3,622 cc across four to eight cylinders, kerb weights from 740 to 3,100 kg and gross vehicle weights from 1,365 to 3,500 kg; widths range from 1,450 to 2,200 mm.
Fordson commercial vehicles represent the early stage of British truck building between the world wars and in the post-war period, as Ford in Dagenham turned from a tractor maker into a builder of light and medium trucks; military versions such as the WOT 2 also show the brand's role in supplying the British armed forces.
With these historic vehicles, what counts is the condition of rust on the frame, cab and load bed, the condition of brakes and steering by the mechanical standards of the era, and the originality of the engine and body; spare parts are now mostly available only through vintage vehicle specialists and as reproductions.
