Ford's 101-series comprises, with the 741/771 Workmaster and 801 Powermaster, two types from the Workmaster/Powermaster family, whose name suffixes denote the power class: Workmaster designated the lighter, Powermaster the more powerful versions. Both types were available with a choice of petrol, LPG or diesel engine. Both types were built in large numbers and shaped the look of many North American and European arable farms of their time.

With the choice between petrol, LPG and diesel engines, this range was aimed at farms for which different fuel types were available in the same chassis depending on local fuel supply and running costs, an offering typical of Ford tractors of the time.
When buying used, check the fuel type of the given engine and its condition, rust on body panels and mudguards, the condition of the clutch and gearbox, and the tightness of the hydraulics.
