The register lists 4 versions with 23.8 to 34.6 kW from consistently four-cylinders of 2,193 to 2,821 cc displacement at 2,000 to 2,200 rpm. Unladen weights lie between 1,369 and 1,645 kg, lengths between 3,069 and 3,368 mm, widths between 1,623 and 1,645 mm, and heights between 1,446 and 1,671 mm. Three of the four types are listed as petrol-LPG versions, one as pure petrol.

Petrol and LPG tractors such as the 100 series were common especially in markets with cheap liquefied gas and on holdings with low annual running hours, where the lower purchase cost compared with diesel engines offset the higher fuel consumption; in the 1960s they formed an important part of Ford's range alongside the increasingly dominant diesel versions.

On a used purchase of the petrol engines, check the condition of the carburettor or LPG system and ignition, wear on the clutch and gearbox, and corrosion on wings and bonnet; parts for the old Ford four-cylinder petrol engines are now only available through specialists.
