The spread from 800 kg to 35 t gross weight runs from light general-cargo trailers in the 350–550 range to heavy semi-trailers such as the SDS 350, built for construction machinery and heavy loads. Within a single brand, Flipper thus covers a wide span from small trailer to heavy hauler.

Buying a used light Flipper trailer means checking the load bed, side panels, overrun brake and tyres; on the heavy versions, also check the frame and welds for cracks, the axle units, the braking system and, on semi-trailers, the kingpin and fifth-wheel plate. Corrosion on the drawbar and underrun guard is often the first weakness on older models, so it is worth looking at the drawbar tube from underneath, not just from above.
