The Fendt Favorit 612 LSA carries a water-cooled six-cylinder diesel engine with 6,240 cm³ of displacement, producing 145 hp, or 106.1 kW, at 2,400 rpm, with 553 Nm of torque. At 7,025 kg, 4,707 mm long, 2,898 mm high, 2,380 mm wide and with a 2,690 mm wheelbase, the machine reaches a top speed of 40 km/h.

At 106.1 kW from 6,240 cm³ of displacement and, for its time, a high 40 km/h top speed, the Favorit 612 LSA was built both for heavy draft work on large arable farms and for brisker haulage runs between the yard and the field. The design top speed falls under German driving licence class T.

When buying a large six-cylinder Favorit tractor used, the condition of the injection pump and the cooling system under full load matters, along with the tightness of the hydraulic connections for front and rear implements. Also worth checking is corrosion damage to the frame, mudguards and cab, along with the condition of the clutch and gearbox after decades of field work. Before buying such an old tractor, the function of the lighting system and the condition of the tyres are also worth checking closely, along with play in the steering linkage.
