Fendt 211 Vario (2009–2019, facelift 2019–2021): compact standard tractor with a 3,300cc three-cylinder diesel, 81 kW and a stepless Vario transmission
The 200 Vario range brought Fendt's stepless Vario transmission, built in Marktoberdorf, Bavaria, within the AGCO group, to the compact power class for the first time, rounding out the line-up below the larger Vario ranges. The 211 Vario was built from 2009 to 2019 and continued as a facelift from 2019 to 2021.

The Fendt 211 Vario carries a water-cooled three-cylinder diesel engine with 3,300 cm³ of displacement, producing 110 hp, or 81 kW, at 2,100 rpm, with 458 Nm of torque; it runs on diesel or RME. At 3,930 kg unladen and up to 7,500 kg permissible gross weight, 4,068 mm long, 2,530 mm high, 2,186 mm wide and with a 2,294 mm wheelbase, the machine reaches a top speed of 40 km/h.
The stepless Vario transmission keeps the three-cylinder engine within its economical speed range regardless of travel speed, an advantage on small and medium farms switching frequently between yard, haulage and field work. At 81 kW and with compact dimensions, the 211 Vario suits front-loader work, grassland and lighter to medium field tasks. The 40 km/h design top speed falls under German driving licence class T.
When buying a compact Vario tractor used, the condition of the stepless transmission matters, since repairing it is more involved than a conventional gearbox; a test drive across the whole speed range is worthwhile. Also worth checking are the tightness of the front-loader hydraulics, if fitted, the condition of the front axle bearings given frequent turning around the yard, and corrosion damage to the mudguards and frame.
