Fendt TriSix: concept tractor with three axles and six wheels, an air-cooled six-cylinder diesel of 12,419cc, 540 hp, a weight of 20,000 kg and a top speed of 61 km/h, unveiled in 2007
Fendt, based in Marktoberdorf in Bavaria and now part of the AGCO group, presented the TriSix in 2007 as a concept tractor. Unlike the regular two-axle production Vario models, the TriSix has three axles and six wheels – a layout used to explore very high power and pulling force without the size of an articulated or tracked tractor.

The six-cylinder diesel engine of 12,419cc produces 540 hp (408 kW). At 20,000 kg, 7,610 mm long and 2,750 mm wide, the TriSix ranks among the largest and heaviest tractor designs ever built; its top speed of 61 km/h exceeds the range normally seen in farm tractors.
At 61 km/h, the design top speed sits just above the 60 km/h limit that defines Germany's tractor driving-licence class T, showing how far this concept went beyond an ordinary production tractor. The third axle spreads the 20-tonne overall weight and the pulling force of the 540 hp engine across six wheels instead of four, reducing ground pressure and wheel slip on soft or wet soil compared with a two-axle tractor of similar output.
As a one-off concept tractor, the TriSix is not something one encounters on the ordinary used market. In assessing such a rare prototype, the condition of the additional third axle and its drive linkage, together with the large air-cooled six-cylinder engine and its connections, would come first.
