By converting existing CF chassis to battery or fuel-cell drive, E-Trucks Europe positions itself in the growing market for emission-free distribution transport in cities and conurbations, where municipalities and hauliers increasingly turn to locally emission-free trucks; the markedly higher unladen weight compared with the diesel chassis stems from the battery and hydrogen tank systems.

When buying a used example of these conversions, checks include the technical condition of the battery and, where fitted, the fuel cell, the inspection history of the high-voltage system by qualified personnel, on hydrogen versions the inspection dates of the pressure tanks, and on the base vehicle the usual points such as brakes, steering and suspension; because of the small numbers built, service and parts run through E-Trucks Europe itself.
