The three-cylinder diesel engine with 3,000 cm³ displacement is water-cooled and produces 82 hp, or 60 kW, at 2,200 rpm. At 3,200 kg unladen weight and 5,200 kg permissible gross weight, with 3,997 mm length, 1,982 mm width and 2,590 mm height, the hydraulics lift up to 2,650 kg.

With a top speed of 40 km/h, the 5080 D Ecoline reaches the upper limit of driving licence category L. Water cooling of the three-cylinder engine follows the modern Deutz-Fahr standard, and the 2,650 kg lift capacity on the three-point linkage allows operation of medium-weight implements for tillage and grassland work.

When buying a 5080 D Ecoline, check the condition of the radiator, water pump and coolant hoses, and the tightness of the hydraulic cylinders on the lift arms and implements. Also check the clutch, gearbox and hours run, since the simpler Ecoline specification was often used in hard everyday work. It is also worth checking the mounting of the front bonnet and the condition of the on-board electronics, since modern tractors in this class increasingly rely on electronic components that can be costly to replace.
