Deuliewag was one of the many small tractor brands of Germany's post-war period – a vehicle builder that in the 1950s, like dozens of firms, made tractors from bought-in components in small series, with engines from suppliers and gearboxes and axles from the trade, before the price pressure of the big makers pushed the small ones off the market in the 1960s. The type logic: D marks the diesel, the number the hp class – D 15 about 15 hp, D 24 and D 25 about 25 hp, D 30 30 hp, D 35 about 35 hp – V Record a special model, D 240 a version variant of the D 24. The engines are diesels with one cylinder in the smallest, two in the medium and three in the large types, of 1.2 to 3.5 litres at 1,500 rpm – slow-running, long-lived engines as MWM, Deutz and Hatz supplied to the small makers.
