Case IH introduced the Farmall series as a revival of the historic brand name for its compact general-purpose tractors; the A version with the types Farmall 65A, 75A and 95A has formed the entry class since around 2010, with the number in the type directly stating the horsepower. The historic Farmall brand name goes back to International Harvester, whose agricultural machinery division merged into Case in 1985, supplying the name for today's series.

The register lists 3 versions with 48 to 70 kW (65 to 95 hp) from three- to four-cylinder diesel engines of 2,930 to 4,500 cm³ displacement at a constant 2,300 rpm. Unladen weights are around 2,880 to 3,780 kg, gross vehicle weights 4,800 to 6,000 kg, lift capacity 3,000 to 3,565 kg. Lengths range from 3,856 to 4,322 mm, widths from 1,922 to 2,550 mm and heights from 2,495 to 2,665 mm.
As compact, versatile general-purpose tractors, the Farmall A series is aimed at smaller and medium-sized farms and at contractors looking for a manoeuvrable, easy-to-operate tractor for yard and field work, competing with comparable series from New Holland and Massey Ferguson. The enclosed cab with air conditioning and the steplessly adjustable hydraulics are part of the standard equipment and ease use even with changing mounted implements.
When buying used, what counts is the operating hours and service history of the diesel, the condition of clutch and gearbox, the function of hydraulics and PTO, and corrosion on the cab and panels; parts run through the Case IH dealer network.
