Case IH 9300 series – articulated Steiger tractors from Fargo: six-cylinder engines up to 14,016 cm³, 176 to 294 kW, Cummins N14 units, models 9330 to 9380
The Case IH 9300 series were articulated Steiger tractors, built at the American plant in Fargo, North Dakota. The Steiger name comes from the original manufacturer of the big articulated tractors, whose plant Case later took over. The register covers the 9330, 9350, 9370 and 9380 models, whose four-digit type numbers rise with the power class; they are driven by six-cylinder diesel engines, some fitted with the Cummins N14 unit.

The register holds 4 versions rated at 176.5 to 294.2 kW (240 to 400 hp), with six-cylinder engines of 8,268 to 14,016 cm³. Weights range from 10,727 to 15,325 kg, lengths from 6,410 to 7,535 mm, widths from 2,890 to 4,023 mm and heights from 3,269 to 3,627 mm. Torque falls between 1,022 and 1,833 Nm at 2,100 to 2,200 rpm, with lift capacity reaching up to 7,711 kg.
As articulated four-wheel-drive tractors with four equally sized wheels, the 9300 series was built for the heaviest draft work on large North American arable land – primary tillage, big cultivators and front-mounted seeding equipment. It competed with the 4WD ranges from John Deere and Versatile in the same power class.
When buying used, this class of big tractor calls for checking the articulation joint and driveshafts, the tightness of the hydraulic and lift systems, and wear on the dual tyres. The engine and injection system of the Cummins units should be checked for smooth running and oil consumption; spare parts run through the Case IH dealer network and specialist suppliers for large tractors.
