The 2140 E/V (A) is powered by an air-cooled four-cylinder diesel engine with 4,000 cc of displacement, producing 47.8 kW (65 hp) at 2,350 rpm and delivering 233 Nm of torque. At 3,594 mm long with a 2,110 mm wheelbase, the machine weighs 2,095 kg; design top speed is 30 km/h.
Air cooling was less common at this power level than water cooling, and offered advantages in simple maintenance and frost resistance, but required an engine design that sheds heat directly through fins on the cylinder surface. At around 2 tonnes and just under 48 kW, the 2140 belongs to the class of light to medium field tractors for farms with no need for heavy haulage machines.
When buying a used 2140 E/V, the condition of the cooling fins and fan matters especially because of the air cooling, since dirt build-up leads to overheating faster here than on water-cooled engines. Also worth checking are the clutch, the tightness of the injection pump, and the condition of the hydraulic hoses, as well as corrosion on the frame and mudguards, which is common on machines of this build year.
