The register lists here 2 versions from the eight-cylinder of 3,998 to 4,998 cm³, unladen weights from 1,710 to 1,790 kg, a gross weight of 1,950 kg and widths from 1,820 to 1,850 mm.

The Wildcat was developed for cross-country rallies and rally raid sport, where lightweight construction, off-road capability and engine power decide success; Bowler vehicles compete here against other specialist rally raid designs and use V8 engines from the Land Rover range. Bowler grew out of rally sport and remained specialised in competition vehicles even after later being brought into the Jaguar Land Rover group.

On these competition vehicles, the event history and accident-free record, the condition of the roll cage and suspension, the function of the low-range transfer case and differential locks and the condition of the V8 engine count; parts run through Bowler itself and the Land Rover parts trade, which makes upkeep easier compared with other rally raid designs and shortens downtime between events.
